Mountain Brook Foods

Anyone ever buy from this outfit? In January of 2007, I bought some #10 cans of margarine powder, and dried pinto beans from them. I just checked current prices. I paid $3.18 per #10 can of Pintos, and $4.50 per #10 of Margarine powder. Todays prices are $7.35 and $11.40 respectfully. More than doubled from a year ago. I do remember those as being sale prices back then. Right now they have NOTHING on sale! One drawback is the shipping prices. I bought one case of 6-#10 cans of each, and the shipping was $30.00.

Stay away from margarine. It's just a couple of double bonds away from being a plastic.

I never ordered from them since I was a little leary about the company. I never see them mentioned at any forums, and a search of thier name only seems to bring up their own site. I wouldn't want to mess around without knowing their reputation. That said I did plan to place a small order with them a little while back. They were the only place I could find that had dehydrated jalepeneo peppers, but it looks like they dont even carry them anymore.

I didn't have any problems when I ordered from them. They sell 5 lb cans of rice for around $7.50. All of the rice I saw at the supermarket the other day, was a dollar a pound. $2.50 per can for the canning doesn't seem too bad. The shipping is what kills you. I wonder if a large order is the way to go. I bought a years supply of food from Emergency Essentials, and they treated me real good on shipping. I think it was only $30 for shipping, and I had probably 10 or more cases of food in #10 cans. They are really good about shipping prices.

No sht! Margarine is toxic! If you could see the process where they make it. Puke! It truly is one tiny bit from plastic.

I have bought many #10 cans from them. Quick delivery and accurate order received.

I've seen it. Got a darn PhD in Chemistry. Only thing I would use margarine for is lubrication and combustion. Maybe for poisoning enemy tribes,

If folks only knew how some of their 'food' was 'manufactured'. Check out the process soy milk is made from. Gag!
